Salma: A Voice from Gaza
Salma is a young girl we work with from Gaza, whose strength and positivity shine through despite the harsh realities she faces. With a unique perspective, Salma gives us a glimpse into Gaza's reality, capturing the struggles and resilience of her life. Through her poetry, diary entries, dabke dancing, and her love for photography and videography, Salma shares the world as seen through her lens.
Since the day she was born, Salma has witnessed the constant hum of drones and the terrifying sound of airstrikes. Yet, she continues to survive with a huge smile, embodying resilience and radiating positivity to those around her. We believe that one day Salma will travel the world, making a global impact for Palestinian children.
In recognition of her strength and talent, we have created a platform for Salma within Kalemat Falastenieh called "From Salma to the World." We have many exciting projects planned for her, along with other inspiring children like her from Gaza.
Here, you can find glimpses of Salma’s poems, diary entries, and sayings—pieces of her world that she shares with us in our conversations.

Help Salma and Her Family Rebuild Their Lives
A year ago, we launched a GoFundMe campaign to help Salma and her family evacuate Gaza. Unfortunately, due to technical issues, we were unable to resolve the situation with GoFundMe, and all donations—amounting to approximately 4,500 euros—were refunded to donors.
Despite the recent ceasefire, Salma and her family have endured immense hardship since October 2023, including the loss of their home. That’s why we are relaunching this fundraising effort to reach the same goal.
If you previously donated, you may have received an email notifying you of a refund. We kindly ask you to redonate those funds. If you haven’t donated yet, now is your chance to make a difference.
You can contribute directly to Salma’s family’s personal bank account via bank transfer using the details below. If you have a Bank of Palestine account, you can also donate via Pay a Friend using the attached phone number.

Bader - A Future Cut Short
Bader is a child we had the privilege of meeting through one of our sports initiatives. Despite the fact that there are huge movement restrictions on the people of Gaza, due to his unique talent Bader was selected to join the sports camp in Jerusalem. Even though the camp ended, Bader and Alissar stayed in touch. At just 13 years old, Bader was an exceptionally talented soccer player, regarded as one of the best in his age group. He was selected to join the Champions Academy in Gaza, a prestigious program for skilled athletes.
But Bader was more than just a soccer star. He was an excellent student, consistently earning top grades, and he was a champion at table tennis, always winning tournaments. He also had a deep love for animals, capturing countless photos of them. With such diverse talents, Bader had the potential to become an athlete, a veterinarian, or an engineer.
Tragically, Bader’s bright future was stolen by an airstrike on December 28th, 2023. The only survivors in his family were his little sister and older brother. Bader’s story is a reminder of the dreams and potential that are lost.
